Lucknow: UP cadre IPS officer Amit Pathak, currently serving as IG of Devipatan Range has been appointed as Inspector General in the National Security Guard (NSG). Pathak is known for law-and-order management, counter-terrorism operations, organised crime investigations. Pathak had a 4.5 years tenure with UP STF, where he led many operations.Among the major cases were investigations into the multi-crore petrol pump chip scam which was unearthed from UP and then across India. He also played a key role in operations against mafia networks, kidnapping gangs, vehicle theft syndicates, illegal liquor cartels and anti-national elements.
