Lucknow: State govt has cleared Lucknow Development Authority’s (LDA) Vashishth Nagar residential scheme, allocating 50 acres to MSME department to set up startups and small enterprises.The land will be used under Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Area Scheme, aimed at generating employment and promoting skill development and entrepreneurship.Planned under Chief Minister’s Urban Expansion Scheme, Vashishth Nagar will be developed across 1,035 acres near Agra Expressway. LDA vice-chairperson Prathamesh Kumar said land has been identified in Revari, Bhaliya, Gahalwara, Adampur Indwara, Bahru and Jaliyamau villages. The project will include industrial, logistics and commercial zones intended to boost economic activity and job creation.Connectivity is a central feature of the plan, with links proposed to Agra Expressway, Mohan Road, Link Expressway and Varun Vihar scheme. Officials expect the transport access to support industrial units, warehouses, logistics operations and transport businesses, while strengthening Lucknow’s integration with national and international supply chains. The scheme is also positioned to support development of Uttar Pradesh State Capital Region.Following the approval, LDA will begin land acquisition through farmers’ consent and other methods. The estimated acquisition cost is Rs 1,328 crore. Vashishth Nagar is part of a broader expansion along Agra Expressway, alongside the 6,580-acre Varun Vihar residential scheme.
