MATHURA: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her landlord in the Goverdhan area of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Thursday.The accused, a 42-year-old man from West Bengal, has been booked after the girl’s mother approached police with a complaint. She alleged that the accused had been sexually assaulting the child for some time and had also kept photographs and videos of the alleged abuse.The accused allegedly assaulted the minor again on Wednesday, following which she informed her mother about the incident. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The girl has been sent for a medical examination, while police are collecting evidence and carrying out further investigation. An Assistant Superintendent of Police said further legal action will be taken based on the findings.
