Lucknow: Gau Tech, a four-day event where experts come together to discuss cow protection, technological innovation, natural farming and the cow-based rural economy, will be held in UP this year, likely in Oct.At a meeting to discuss its preparations, Go Sewa Ayog chairperson Shyam Bihari Gupta said that the main objective behind Gau-Tech 2026 is to showcase successful models and technological solutions in conservation of cows and develop concrete, outcome-oriented strategies for their wider adoption and implementation.“The vision of Gau-Tech 2026 is to connect cow service and protection with modern science, technology and innovation, and transform cow protection into a new force for the rural economy. We envision self-reliant gaushalas where, alongside cattle protection, cow dung and urine are scientifically and economically utilised to produce clean energy and natural farming inputs, while creating new avenues of employment and entrepreneurship for rural youth,” he said.Gau-Tech festivals have previously been organised in Ahmedabad, Pune and Jaipur. For a venue in UP, Go Sewa Ayog is considering Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Vrindavan, Ayodhya and Lucknow.Thursday’s meeting also saw a discussion on scientific and sustainable utilisation of cow and its products, like milk, dung and urine and how these can contribute to healthier living, soil conservation and ecological balance. Gau-Tech 2026 will aim to connect cow protection with natural farming, clean energy, soil conservation, environmental sustainability, rural self-reliance and cow-based entrepreneurship.
