times news networkLucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) on Tuesday declared the final results for the direct recruitment-2025 drive to fill 4,543 posts of sub-inspectors (Civil Police) and equivalent ranks, concluding one of the state’s largest police recruitment exercises. The list of selected candidates has been uploaded on the board’s official website.The recruitment drive covered 4,242 posts of SIs (civil police), 135 posts of Platoon Commander, PAC/sub-inspector (Armed Police), 60 posts of platoon commander/sub-inspector in the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (UPSSF), and 106 posts of women SIs (Civil Police) in the Women’s Battalion.According to the board, 4,543 candidates from the Unreserved, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories have been selected. The successful candidates include 954 women.The board said 1,200 candidates were selected in the general category. Besides, 2,240 candidates were selected against 1,222 OBC vacancies, 1,017 against 951 SC vacancies, and 86 against 86 ST vacancies, in accordance with the state’s reservation policy.The recruitment process drew overwhelming participation, with 15.75 lakh candidates submitting online applications after the notification was issued in August 2025.The written examination was held in multiple shifts across all 75 districts of the state. After objections to the provisional answer key were reviewed by panels of subject experts, the final answer key was published on May 7, 2026.Based on the written examination results, 12,333 candidates were shortlisted for document verification (DV) and physical standard tests (PST) conducted between June 15 and June 17, 2026. Of them, 11,637 qualified for the next stage.The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) was held from June 29 to July 4, 2026, in which 9,758 candidates qualified. The Board said RFID technology was used to record running times accurately, ensuring fairness and precision in the evaluation process.To ensure transparency, extensive CCTV surveillance was deployed at examination centres, document verification venues and physical test sites. Live feeds were monitored in real time through district-level and Board control rooms.The final merit list has been prepared on the basis of candidates’ normalised scores in the written examination, preferences indicated in their application forms and the applicable reservation policy.The board said candidates who appeared in the written examination will be able to access their normalised scores through a dedicated link on the official website from July 22, 2026.
