Lucknow: An induction training programme for the 2026 batch of assistant environmental engineers and assistant scientific officers of the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board began on Monday at the Urban Training and Research Institute in Lucknow.The programme will run from Aug 17 to Sept 3 and is aimed at orienting newly recruited officers to regulatory responsibilities, field protocols and administrative procedures.It was inaugurated by KP Malik, minister of state for environment, forest and climate change, Uttar Pradesh. Addressing trainees, Malik stressed balancing environmental conservation with the state’s rapid industrial and economic growth. He asked officers to work with dedication in the public interest and contribute to making Uttar Pradesh “Uttam Pradesh,” an exemplary state.
