Lucknow: Govt job aspirants in Uttar Pradesh will now have to register only once for recruitment conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), as the commission rolled out a free One-Time Registration (OTR) system on Tuesday. The new system aims to simplify the application process for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) and other recruitment examinations by eliminating the need for candidates to repeatedly enter the same personal details while applying for different posts.“Under the OTR facility, candidates will be required to register once by furnishing their personal information, educational qualifications and contact details, which will be linked to their mobile number and email address. They will also have to upload a recent colour photograph and signature in the prescribed format,” an official spokesperson said.“The OTR system is intended to make the recruitment process faster and reduce errors by maintaining candidates’ records digitally. The commission clarified that details submitted during registration cannot be modified once an OTR number is generated, and candidates have been advised to fill in the information carefully. The facility was made available free of cost for both new and existing applicants,” the spokesperson added. The concept of OTR was first announced by chief minister Yogi Adityanath in 2023 while inaugurating the commission’s OTR portal and revamped website.
