NEW DELHI: Tamil Nadu chief minister Vijay on Thursday flagged off 300 new buses of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), marking a major step towards strengthening the state’s public transportation network.The CM inaugurated the fleet at a function held in Chennai, where senior ministers, transport department officials, and TNSTC representatives were present.After flagging off the buses, Vijay boarded one of the newly launched vehicles and took a ride through the city. During the journey, he interacted with fellow passengers, inquiring about their travel experience, the quality of public transport services, and suggestions for further improvements.The newly added buses will be introduced on routes across the state to bolster public transport operations and provide better connectivity for commuters.The fleet includes a mix of diesel and CNG-powered vehicles, underscoring the government’s focus on upgrading public transportation while extending services in both urban and rural regions.The addition of these buses is expected to phase out older vehicles and improve the dependability, safety and overall travel experience for passengers using state-run transport services.
