Reiterates No Animal Sacrifice At Public SpacesTNNLucknow: Taking strong governance to the doorstep, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday asked senior officials to hold weekly chaupals in every block to resolve grievances of the people. A schedule is going to be prepared to cover all the development blocks in the state, and villagers would be free to approach the team of officials with their issues in the chaupals.Yogi said that disputes take place between rural households over petty issues but escalate into violent incidents later if time-bound and fair disposal does not take place. On-spot resolutions are going to be offered to the villagers through discussions and deliberations. Revenue, law and order, and societal issues have been listed as top priority areas. District magistrates would have to get involved and prepare the schedule for the weekly chaupals and depute senior officials to deliver the solutions in a time-bound and transparent manner.The CM directed officials to maintain special vigilance in view of the upcoming festivals of Ganga Dussehra and Bakrid. He said that animal sacrifice at public places will not be permitted and there will be a complete ban on the sacrifice of prohibited animals. Sacrifices will be allowed only at pre-designated locations and no new traditions will be encouraged.The CM directed that namaz should be offered only at traditional sites and under no circumstances should permission be granted for blocking roads to offer prayers. He further instructed that every district must ensure a well-planned mechanism for disposal of waste generated after sacrifices. Open sale of meat must remain prohibited and illegal slaughterhouses must not operate under any circumstances.He also ordered special attention to electricity supply, sanitation and security arrangements during the festivals. Flag marches in sensitive areas and continuous foot patrols around religious places were directed.Interacting with district magistrates and police chiefs of sensitive districts including Aligarh, Bijnor, Saharanpur, Rampur and Sambhal, he asked them to review past incidents, identify potential troublemakers and take preventive action. Regular dialogue with peace committees at police station, tehsil and district levels was also emphasised. For Ganga Dussehra, he directed cleanliness of ghats, barricading, ambulance deployment, shaded facilities and parking management in Prayagraj, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Chitrakoot, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar and Amroha, stressing heat-related safety for devotees.He also ordered campaigns against vehicles without number plates, formation of task forces against illegal mining, intensified action against land mafia and immediate posting of Chief Medical Officers where vacancies exist.
