Lucknow: A woman advocate practising at the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has lodged an FIR at Vibhuti Khand police station alleging that she received obscene calls, abusive WhatsApp messages and threats of sexual violence from a man allegedly pressuring her to secure bail for an accused in a criminal case.According to the complaint, the advocate, a resident of Vijayant Khand in Gomtinagar, said she received a phone call on Nov 29, 2025, from a mobile number seeking assistance in getting bail for Vijay alias Golu, a resident of Akbarpur in Kanpur district who is currently living in Barabanki. The caller allegedly insisted that the accused be granted bail by Dec 2025.However, the advocate informed him that the HC had already fixed the matter for hearing in Jan 2026 and expressed her inability to intervene.She alleged that on Dec 8, the same person repeatedly called her and sent objectionable text and voice messages on WhatsApp using abusive and vulgar language against her and her family. The accused also allegedly threatened to come to the HC premises and sexually assault her.The complainant told police that she preserved the voice recordings in a pen drive. Police have registered an FIR and started an investigation.
