Lucknow: A 40-year-old woman has alleged that her tenant entered her home and sexually assaulted her after learning she had approached police over an earlier attack on her husband. Police said an FIR was registered on Wednesday at Kotwali Chinhat police station.According to the complaint, the dispute began when the tenant allegedly assaulted and abused the woman’s husband. The woman said she subsequently submitted a complaint to the police, following which the accused became aware of the action taken against him.The woman alleged that on Aug 3 around 6 pm, the tenant came to her house to retaliate, barged in and forced her onto a bed. She claimed the accused sat on her and forcibly touched and pressed her private body parts, outraging her modesty.She further alleged that when she shouted for help, the accused attacked her husband with a brick, causing serious injuries. The complainant stated that when she attempted to intervene, the tenant allegedly molested her.The FIR also names the accused’s wife. The complainant alleged that she came downstairs from the upper floor and joined the assault. Neighbours reportedly rushed in after hearing the woman’s screams and intervened, preventing further violence and helping the couple.Police have registered the case under Sections 74, 75, 115(2), 351(3) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and said further action will be taken based on the investigation.
