HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old electrician and fitness content creator, known on YouTube as Masood Chandi, was allegedly beaten to death at his home in Hyderabad’s Golconda area on Friday evening following a family dispute, police said. The deceased has been identified as SK Mahboob, who ran bodybuilding and fitness-related videos online and had over 2,500 followers. He was known for wearing silver jewellery in his videos. Police said Mahboob’s brother-in-law SK Sohail, along with two associates, Affu and Jaber, came to his house in Kummarwadi around 3.30 pm. An argument broke out, which soon turned violent. “Mahboob suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot,” Additional DCP Golconda Krishna Goud said. According to police, Sohail had married a woman from the Bada Bazaar area of Golconda around 18 months ago, and the couple have a six-month-old son. Tensions between the families had reportedly been building over the marriage and domestic issues. Police said Mahboob had recently sent his wife and child to her parental home following differences, which further escalated tensions. “During the confrontation, the accused allegedly attacked him with a rod,” the ACP said. Police have formed three special teams to trace the accused, who are currently absconding. A case has been registered under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the body has been sent for postmortem at Osmania General Hospital.
