Lucknow: A woman has accused her 17-year-old son of subjecting her to repeated physical assault, torture, intimidation and threats to life over the past two years.Janakipuram police lodged an FIR under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), 305(a) (theft), and 333 (house-trespass after making preparation for assault) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the teenager.On July 10, the complainant alleged that her son, who had allegedly fallen into bad company, was assaulting her regularly for nearly two years. She claimed he repeatedly beat her with electric cables, confined her to a room, gagged her to prevent her from raising an alarm, and allegedly burnt her with cigarettes on multiple occasions.The complainant alleged that whenever she called the police emergency helpline, officers would counsel the teenager before leaving, but the assault would continue. She also accused the boy of threatening to kill her if his demands for money were not met.The woman claimed that the accused withdrew Rs 3 lakh from his grandfather’s bank account without informing her. The unauthorised withdrawal came to light when the family required money for the elderly man’s treatment.When confronted, the teenager allegedly admitted to spending the money on his friends. The complainant claimed that the incident caused severe emotional distress to the elderly man, who later died.The woman also alleged that the ancestral jewellery belonging to her mother-in-law was stolen after a storage box was broken open.The complainant said that she underwent hernia surgery and alleged that despite being aware of her medical condition, the accused kicked and assaulted her around the operated area.SHO, Jankipuram, Vinod Tiwari, said that a probe was being conducted and the teenager was being counselled. “The woman’s husband, who works in a private firm in Basti, has been informed about it,” he said.
