Lucknow: Utkarsh is the Uttar Pradesh state topper in the second session of JEE Main examination, a national-level engineering test, results of which were announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday.Utkarsh scored 99.9 percentile (also read as NTA score) and stood as state topper in JEE Main’s first session held in January.As many as 26 candidates — five each from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana; four from Rajasthan; three from Delhi; two each from Maharashtra and Haryana; and one each from Bihar, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Odisha — have topped the country by securing 100 percentile.The second session of JEE Main was conducted by NTA between April 2 and 6 and April 8 in two shifts per day at 584 centres in 319 cities. A total of 11.1 lakh candidates registered for the test, of which 10.3 lakh appeared.For those who took both the sessions, the best NTA score of both the sessions was declared. The eligible candidates will take the JEE Advanced test slated in May. Those who qualify for the test will be eligible for admission to IITs.During the second session, a total of 57 candidates were similarly found to be involved in unfair means, including forgery of any documents related to the examination and possession of a mobile phone/written chit and, consequently, their results were not declared.
