Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said that, unable to digest defeat over women reservation amendment bill in Parliament, the BJP was now jittery of a possible backlash from the PDA community on the issue.He said the PDA community – comprising 95% of the population – would have been deprived of its due if the bill was passed.“The BJP is spending sleepless nights over the possible fallouts that will come their way once the PDA community unites against the BJP’s misdeeds. Like always, the BJP has gone underground and is getting restless,” Akhilesh said in a statement.Taking exception to a series of posts carrying photographs and names of opposition leaders, including Akhilesh and Dimple, by BJP’s official X handle over women’s reservation amendment bill, the SP chief said such comments from a political party’s official handle have brought to fore a new low in political morality and will go down in the annals of history.“One cannot expect anything better from BJP, which is full of hatred for the PDA community. What the BJP does not realise is that such ‘hate attacks’ not only further unite the PDA but also make the bond stronger,” he said.Akhilesh added that “Today the BJP has drawn a line which will hit their party leaders from PDA background the hardest. They faced defeat in 2024 Lok Sabha polls and will face worse times ahead like electoral boycott by the community.”He further said history stands witness to instances where once the destructive forces begin to lose ground, they simply crumble. That’s exactly what is happening with the BJP.‘BJP, allies staging fake protests’Lucknow: Accusing the BJP and its allies of getting fake protests enacted and filmed, Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said the BJP will continue to hatch conspiracies.“They have engaged youngsters to enact protests, which are being filmed like a shooting schedule. We don’t blame the young men and women who have been roped in for this as they will be able to earn some money in a scenario where unemployment is rampant. Under the present BJP regime, people are feeling helpless and are ready to do anything to earn some money. The BJP is taking advantage of people’s helplessness to put to shape its nefarious designs,” Akhilesh said.
