Lucknow: Describing the 21st century as an era of “AI war”, where nations compete not through weapons but technological intelligence, Sarojini Nagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh has called for an aggressive push towards artificial intelligence (AI)-led growth. In a communiqué to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Singh proposed a series of policy interventions, including the creation of a dedicated UP AI Research and Innovation Fund, the establishment of a state AI Commission, and a structured seed funding policy to support AI startups, incubators and innovation hubs. Highlighting India’s demographic strength, Singh said nearly 65% of the country’s population is under 35, making it imperative to transform youth from passive users of technology into active creators and innovators. He stressed that AI is rapidly becoming central to sectors such as defence, cybersecurity, healthcare, agriculture, governance and education. “The nation that leads in AI will write the history of the future,” Singh said, urging young people to equip themselves with coding skills, data literacy and critical thinking. He asserted that Uttar Pradesh must move beyond adopting AI technologies and instead position itself as a hub for AI talent and innovation through sustained investment and ecosystem support.
