Lucknow: BJP MP Anurag Thakur on Tuesday backed the SIT probe into alleged irregularities in donations at the Ram Temple, asserting that the inquiry was initiated at the request of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.Speaking to reporters in Kanpur, Thakur dismissed questions over the absence of an FIR, saying the Trust had formally sought an independent probe from the UP govt to ensure a fair investigation. “The SIT was constituted following the Trust’s request. It should be allowed to complete its work without interference,” he said.Thakur said the truth would emerge once the report is submitted. He accused critics of politicising the issue, alleging that those who opposed the Ram Janmabhoomi movement earlier were now trying to revive their agenda.
