The initiative includes incentives for channel partners and community benefits such as solarisation of schools and healthcare facilities.Under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, consumers receive a central subsidy of Rs 30,000 per kilowatt, while the Uttar Pradesh government provides an additional subsidy of Rs 15,000 per kilowatt. Combined benefits can reach up to Rs 1.08 lakh for systems up to 3 kW, making rooftop solar increasingly affordable for households.Speaking to TOI, Tata Power CEO and managing director Praveer Sinha said the company aims to install 3 lakh rooftop solar systems within a year nationally and increase its market share in the segment from the current 12 per cent to 15 per cent over the next two years, eventually reaching 20 per cent within five years.“Uttar Pradesh is among the most promising rooftop solar markets in the country.
