BENGALURU: Around 55% students passed in SSLC-2, whose results were announced on Saturday evening. With this, the consolidated pass percentage of SSLC stood at 93.1%, as against 75% last year. The pass percentage of regular fresh students was at 94.10% in SSLC-1 and 63% in SSLC-2, taking the consolidated pass percentage to 98%, creating history in the state. Last year, it was 80%. A total of 1.03 lakh students had appeared for SSLC-2. 11,892 students had appeared for SSLC-2 to improve their scores. Of these, 71% got better scores. After SSLC-2, five more students secured 625 out of 625. Of this one student is from a government school and the other 4 from private schools. Among the students who improved their results, 136 students secured 100% in first language, 76 in second language, 144 in third language, 52 in Maths, 126 in Science and 68 in Social Science. For freshers, the pass percentage in all subjects, barring first language, crossed 99% in the consolidated results. In first language, it was 98.98%. 99% of girls passed, as against 97% of boys. 98% of students from government schools passed, marginally trailing behind unaided schools (98.63%).Pass percentage has been the highest in English medium (98.96%) and lowest in Tamil medium (93%).A district wise analysis points out that Udupi clocked in 99.58%, Mandya 99.43%, Dakshin Kannada 99.42% and Bengaluru rural 99.34%. Hassan, Haveri, Uttara Kannada are other districts with above 99%.The exam was held from May 18 to 25 in 358 exam centres.
