The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has started the online application process for the recruitment of Pharmacists (Pharmacy Officers) in Punjab. A total of 454 vacancies have been announced under the recruitment drive.Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official BFUHS website before July 1. Candidates are advised to carefully check the eligibility criteria and other conditions before submitting their applications.
Vacancy details
The recruitment drive aims to fill 454 Pharmacist (Pharmacy Officer) posts in the state.According to the notification, the vacancies include both fresh and backlog posts across various categories. Out of the total vacancies, 118 posts have been reserved for women candidates.
Educational qualification
Candidates applying for the post must have passed the Senior Secondary Part-II examination with Science or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board or institution.In addition, applicants should possess any one of the following qualifications:
- Diploma in Pharmacy
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Any higher qualification in the same discipline from a recognised institution
Candidates must also be registered as a Pharmacist with the Punjab Pharmacy Council established under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
Age limit
Candidates should be between 18 and 37 years of age as on January 1, 2026.Age relaxation will be provided as per Punjab Government rules. Some of the relaxations mentioned in the notification include:
- 5 years for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Backward Class (BC) candidates
- 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)
- Additional relaxations for ex-servicemen, widows, divorcees and certain other categories as per government norms
Selection process
The selection process will be based on:
- Written examination – 90 marks
- Experience – 10 marks
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination and experience, subject to the reservation policy of the Punjab Government.Candidates must secure at least 33 per cent marks in the written test to be considered eligible.
Knowledge of Punjabi mandatory
The notification states that candidates must have knowledge of Punjabi. Applicants should have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or possess an equivalent qualification.A qualifying Punjabi language test may also be applicable as per Punjab Government rules. Candidates failing to meet the prescribed Punjabi language requirements will not be considered for selection.
Salary
Selected candidates will receive an initial pay of Rs 29,200 under Level 5 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix.
