MUMBAI: A bomb threat call targeting Mumbai’s iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel triggered a security scare on Sunday, prompting police to launch a search operation and begin an investigation to trace the caller.According to police, Navi Mumbai Police received a call around 12 am claiming that the luxury hotel would be blown up.The information was immediately passed on to Mumbai Police, following which security personnel carried out a thorough inspection of the premises.Officials said the hotel was searched as a precautionary measure, while efforts are underway to identify the person behind the threat.Mumbai Police is now probing the origin of the call and examining all possible leads.The incident comes a day after a similar hoax bomb threat triggered a brief high-alert situation at Delhi’s Red Fort.The call, received by the Mumbai Police control room, was promptly shared with Delhi Police.Following the alert, police teams in the national capital conducted an extensive security check at the monument, but found no suspicious objects.Authorities are investigating the source of both calls and are working to trace those responsible.(With ANI inputs)
