NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) continued its protest at Jantar Mantar on Monday for the third consecutive day, alleging irregularities in examinations and a paper leak in the NEET exam held on May 3.CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke thanked volunteer Mohd Junaid for assisting participants by distributing juice and snack packets to students who have been staying overnight at the protest venue.In a video, Abhijeet can be seen hugging and thanking volunteer Mohd Junaid and touching his feet, as Junaid distributes juice and snack packets to students.Abhijeet also requested the authorities to immediately restore water supply to restrooms at Jantar Mantar.CJP said, “Today we are lighting candles in memory of every student who lost their life due to the government’s incompetence, which led to the NEET paper leak,” at 5:30 pm.The sit-in, which began on Saturday afternoon, has continued uninterrupted, with several protesters spending nights at the site under police deployment.During the agitation, several individuals were also seen distributing food and drinking water to protesters throughout the night.On Sunday, Dipke announced that the demonstration would continue on Monday and urged farmer unions and members of the public to join the movement.The protest site saw sloganeering, speeches and cultural performances on Sunday, with supporters clapping, playing dafs and singing patriotic songs. Dipke demanded the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging a lack of accountability over the examination controversy.He also sought compensation for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide following the paper leak, along with the cancellation of the examination.(Wiuth agency inputs)
