NEW DELHI: As the impact of western disturbance begins to die in the capital, IMD expects gradual rise in temperature.The maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 35.4 degree Celsius, four notches below normal against 33.6 degree Celsius a day earlier. The minimum temperature was recorded at 20.7 degree Celsius, four notches below normal, against 19.6 degree Celsius a day earlier.A gradual rise in night-time temperature is also likely, expected to touch 27 degree Celsius by the weekend, the India Meteorological Department added.As per IMD, a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect western Himalayan Region from May 10. However, gradual rise in maximum temperatures is expected by 4-6 degree Celsius during next five days.As per IMD, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 35-38 degree Celsius on Thursday, and 38-40 degree Celsius on Friday.Meanwhile, the Air Quality Index deteriorated to moderate again after being satisfactory for two days. The AQI, on a scale of 0 to 500, on Wednesday was 121, against 86 a day earlier.Over the next week, the AQI may turn poor as well.
