Ben Affleck has joined the exclusive list of celebrities who have won the Million Dollar prize on the game show ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’. The Oscar-winning actor, alongside ‘Jeopardy!’ champion Jamie Ding, walked away with the coveted USD 1 million prize of the game show. The entire winnings have reportedly been donated to charity, and will benefit the Eastern Congo Initiative, a nonprofit organization Affleck founded to support community-based organizations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. At the start of the episode, Affleck explained the mission behind the charity. He shared that the Eastern Congo Initiative supports local organizations in a region that has been “severely impacted by a very traumatic war.”The duo was asked the million-dollar question- “In an annual Thanksgiving tradition, all but which of these have been the names of turkeys pardoned by a U.S. president?”The four options were- Peanut Butter & Jelly, Tater & Tot, Mac & Cheese, Spaghetti & Meatball.Looking at the answers, Affleck joked, “You must be kidding me,” before suggesting they use their Phone-a-Friend lifeline.Host Jimmy Kimmel reminded the pair that they still had their Ask-the-Host lifeline available. Affleck initially joked that they should still call Ding’s friend before deciding to stick with Kimmel. He said, “This is the person that would actually be paying attention to every pardoned turkey’s name. Probably the best person in the world to ask this question to.”Kimmel offered his best guess, saying, “If I’m wrong, I’m so sorry. But Spaghetti and Meatball is my final answer.”Although they also used their Phone-a-Friend lifeline, Ding’s friend was unable to provide an answer before time expired. “Jimmy, you might like this friend of mine. I mean, Harvard-educated, father, we’re two years apart, but we’ve been through a lot of trials and tribulations together. Just like Ben and Matt.”With time running out, Affleck decided to trust Kimmel’s instincts.“We’re lucky to get help from the world’s expert on precisely this kind of story,” he joked, before telling Ding, “I don’t know how you feel, but I would bet on Jimmy. I would go for it.”The pair locked in “Spaghetti & Meatball” as their final answer—and it proved to be correct. As confetti rained down on the set, Affleck and Ding celebrated by embracing each other and photos and videos of the same have since flooded social media. The victory places Affleck and Ding among a handful of celebrity contestants who have claimed the USD 1 million prize. Previous winners include Matt Damon and Ken Jennings in 2025, Ike and Alan Barinholtz in 2024, and Oscar Nuñez and Kate Flannery in 2025.
