Lucknow: In a case of exploitation and cyber blackmail, a businessman allegedly trapped a social media influencer in a romantic relationship, sexually assaulted her and later demanded Rs 10 lakh by threatening to circulate her obscene videos.According to the complaint, the accused initially contacted the victim through a Facebook friend request. As conversations progressed, he claimed to be separated from his wife for four years and gradually lured the influencer into a relationship. During this period, he allegedly persuaded her to share semi-nude photographs.The victim alleged that in May 2025, the accused called her to a hotel near Munshi Pulia, spiked her drink, raped her and recorded the act on video.The video was used for blackmail. He allegedly created a fake Instagram account in her name and uploaded her objectionable photos and videos.The victim further stated that her mobile number was also shared along with the posts. Upon resisting, she was allegedly threatened by the accused and his wife, Priyanka.After initial inaction by the Indira Nagar police, the victim approached the court and a case was registered.ACP Ghazipur (Indiranagar), Anindya Vikram Singh, said the victim’s statement will be recorded and further action will be taken based on evidence.
