The Delhi Development Authority’s Karmajeevi Awaas Yojana 2026 received a strong response on the opening day, with 661 of the 1,218 flats available at the time being booked. All 1-BHK flats were sold on the first day. The scheme offers ready-to-move-in homes in Narela at a 25 percent discount. What is the Karmajeevi Awaas Yojana? The scheme has been launched by the Delhi Development Authority to offer housing to serving and retired government employees as well as eligible professionals working in corporate, business, entrepreneurial and professional sectors. The flats are located in Pocket 11, Sector A1-A4, Narela, and are being offered on a freehold basis. The scheme covers 1-BHK, 2-BHK and 3-BHK homes. The main attraction is the 25 percent discount offered by DDA. Prices start at Rs 33.40 lakh for a 1-BHK, Rs 75.55 lakh for a 2-BHK and Rs 1.065 crore for a 3-BHK. The flats are ready to move into, so buyers do not have to wait for construction to be completed.Who can apply and how does booking work? The scheme follows a first-come, first-served system instead of the traditional DDA draw of lots. Registration began on July 24, while bookings opened on August 15 through the DDA Awaas Portal.Applicants have to meet the eligibility requirements specified by DDA and submit the required documents. A one-time registration fee of Rs 2,500 is applicable. The booking amount varies according to the flat category. The scheme is scheduled to remain open until October 30, 2026, or until the available inventory is exhausted. Why Narela is important to the schemeThe Narela location is a key part of DDA’s housing strategy. The authority has highlighted upcoming Metro and RRTS connectivity as well as road, sports and education infrastructure planned in the area. The scheme also comes as DDA continues to push its Narela housing stock. The authority sold 1,284 flats in the first quarter of the current financial year, with 1,153 of those sales coming from Narela. The opening-day bookings indicate strong initial interest, particularly in the lower-priced 1-BHK category. However, the larger focus of the Karmajeevi Awaas Yojana is DDA’s effort to attract eligible working professionals and government employees to its ready-to-move housing in Narela.
