Actress Devanggana Chauhan known for shows like Dhadkan Zindagi Kii, Sapnon Ki Chhalaang, and Saavi Ki Savaari, believes that relationships today need more emotional awareness than ever. Opening up about her personal life, she shares, “Yes, I am single. But honestly, I am very scared of relationships now. My past experiences have taught me lessons that left me fearful. Even the mention of a relationship makes me anxious.”For Devanggana, the foundation of any relationship lies in mutual understanding and respect. “You should only get into a relationship if both people truly understand each other, keep their egos aside, and respect each other’s work,” she says, hinting at how lack of effort can weaken bonds. “These days, relationships don’t last long because people have lost patience. There is a lack of effort from both sides.”Reflecting on her past, she admits that dating someone outside the entertainment industry came with its own challenges. “I used to wonder why people from the same profession marry each other. But after my experience, I realised how difficult it can be for someone outside the industry to understand this life,” she explains. “That’s why I would prefer dating someone from the industry now—it becomes easier to relate.”However, she is not rigid about it. “If someone outside the industry truly understands my work and trusts me, I am open to settling down with that person,” she adds, emphasizing that trust is non-negotiable. “When you interact with so many people, your partner needs to trust you completely. I have always been loyal, but if the other person doesn’t understand that, then the problem is not mine.”
