Lucknow: Two motorcycle riders, including a prominent young businessman, were killed after their bike collided with a stray bull on the Lucknow-Bahraich National Highway in the Fakharpur area during the early hours of Sunday, police said.The deceased were identified as Deepak Singh, 33, a ready-made garments trader from Sidrakha village in Kaiserganj, and his friend Arpit Singh, 22, a resident of Nihalpurwa in Gonda district.According to police, the duo had travelled to Bahraich on Saturday night for business-related work and were returning home when the accident occurred near Kadiyapur Mod around 2:45 am. A stray bull reportedly appeared suddenly on the highway, causing the speeding motorcycle to lose balance and crash after hitting the animal. Both riders sustained critical injuries and were rushed by family members to the CHC in Fakharpur, where doctors declared them dead.Deepak Singh was known in business circles in Kaiserganj, and news of his death triggered an outpouring of grief among traders and local residents. Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination and registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Ravi Singh.SHO Sanjeev Chauhan said sub-inspector Om Prakash Gaur has been assigned to investigate the accident. According to the victims’ family members, both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
