Prince Yadav has been a shining light in a rather tepid IPL 2026 for Lucknow Super Giants. The pacer has not only claimed 16 wickets but also shown he could deliver in different phases of the game, an indication of his progress.
LSG bowling coach Bharat Arun reckons Prince has it in him to step up and don the national colours if he continues to keep improving.
A product of tennis-ball cricket, the 24-year-old has made heads turn with impressive spells and sent maestro Virat Kohli packing in LSG’s previous game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru with a peach of a delivery.
“See… Prince, last year he showed glimpses of what he could achieve,” Arun told reporters on the eve of LSG’s match against Chennai Super Kings at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
“So, actually this year during the camps that we had, we discussed his strengths. See, under pressure, sometimes a bowler goes blank. But under pressure, the one who is confident of executing his strengths is going to be most successful in execution.

“One reason for me joining LSG was due to the fact they were really exciting bowlers. Prince and Mohsin Khan… Mohammed Shami is doing well and Mayank Yadav bowled pretty well in the last game. Okay, he is a little short of match practice, but he is getting there. And also, we have a few other exciting prospects on hand.
“So, overall if you look at it, if you ask me, can they play for India? Yes, they (Prince and Mohsin) have it in them to play (for India)”.
