Lucknow: A 22-year-old man was killed with a sharp-edged weapon after he was found with a woman with whom he was reportedly in a relationship in Kushinagar’s Kasya area. Police have arrested the woman’s father and uncle in connection with the killing.The incident took place in Dumri Churaman Chhapra village, where the victim, identified as Mohit, was allegedly attacked after the woman’s family found the two together.According to police and the complaint lodged by the victim’s father, Mohit, son of a local fair-price shop dealer, had gone to sleep at a newly constructed house on the outskirts of the village.During the night, his girlfriend, who belongs to a different community and lives in a neighbouring hamlet, reportedly reached the house. The woman’s father and uncle allegedly followed her and arrived at the spot.Police said the two were allegedly found together, following which the woman’s relatives became enraged. They allegedly attacked Mohit with a sharp-edged weapon, killing him. His body was subsequently dumped outside the house, according to the complaint.The incident came to light on Tuesday when family members found Mohit’s body outside the house. Following the discovery, angry relatives and residents blocked the road, demanding action against those responsible.Based on a complaint lodged by Mohit’s father, police registered an FIR against four people, including the woman’s father Arvind God and uncle Shailesh.Kasya circle officer Dr Ajay Kumar Singh said the two accused had been arrested, and police teams were conducting raids to apprehend the remaining accused.“An FIR has been registered against four people based on the victim’s father’s complaint. The girl’s father and uncle have been arrested. Teams have been deployed to arrest the remaining accused,” the CO said.Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and are investigating the circumstances leading to the killing. Further action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the investigation.
