Lucknow: A simulated sudden threat at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan triggered a high-intensity evacuation drill, as the National Security Guard (NSG) commandos swiftly secured and moved the ‘chief minister’ to safety during a joint mock drill conducted with the Lucknow Police. The drill, held inside Jupiter Hall, simulated an emergency threat during an ongoing VVIP event. Within seconds of the alert, NSG commandos formed a security cordon around the ‘CM’ and executed a flawless evacuation to a pre-designated safe house, while simultaneously neutralising the perceived threat. Parallelly, police personnel ensured the safe and orderly evacuation of people inside the hall, preventing panic and maintaining calm despite the simulated crisis. The exercise was part of a broader preparedness initiative to test and strengthen response mechanisms for VVIP security in high-risk scenarios. Officials closely reviewed escort protocols, inter-agency coordination, and response time during the drill.
