New Delhi: The death toll in the building fire in southeast Delhi’s Tughlaqabad Extension has risen to four after a 50-year-old woman succumbed to her burn injuries Monday, police said.The deceased, Guddi Devi, lived on the third floor of the building. Her son Pankaj Kumar Pandey (28), daughter Soni (20) and mother Sushila Devi (70) had earlier died in the incident.“She had suffered severe burn injuries in the fire and was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital, where she died during treatment,” a police officer said.With her death, Guddi’s 18-year-old daughter Moni, who was also injured in the blaze, is now the only surviving member of the family and is undergoing treatment.In another incident, one person died and two others were injured after a car caught fire Tuesday in Outer Delhi’s Alipur area.According to investigators, information was received at the Alipur police station around 1.25 am.Police rushed to the spot and found that three injured occupants had already been shifted to a hospital by a PCR van. One of them later succumbed to injuries, while the other two were referred to a higher medical centre.The vehicle was completely gutted. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
