Lucknow: Two brothers-in-law were killed after a speeding dumper truck rammed their motorcycle from behind and dragged it for nearly two kilometres on Kisan Path in Sarojini Nagar area on Thursday afternoon.The accident occurred around 1.30 pm between Daroga Khera on Kanpur Road and the Gahru underpass. The deceased were identified as Ramsevak Yadav, 50, a resident of Harikansh Garhi in Mohanlalganj, and Ramu Yadav, 45, from Sitapur.According to police and eyewitnesses, Ramu, a truck driver, was riding the motorcycle with Ramsevak seated pillion when the dumper hit them at high speed. Both were thrown onto the road, while the motorcycle became lodged under the truck and was dragged for a considerable distance.Passers-by alerted police, following which teams chased and intercepted the dumper near the Natkur underpass in Bijnor area. The vehicle was seized and its driver detained.The injured men were rushed to Lok Bandhu Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.Police said Ramu came to visit his brother-in-law, and both were returning home when the accident occurred. Ramsevak is survived by his wife, a son and three married daughters, while Ramu leaves behind his wife and two children, said SHO Hardwari Lal.
