Lucknow: The UP govt on Thursday decided to give another chance to students who missed out on the scholarship scheme.The social welfare department will reopen the portal for students who missed applying under the scholarship and fee reimbursement scheme for the academic session 2025-26, allowing them to reapply and avail themselves of the benefits.The scheme ensures that no eligible student is deprived of the scholarship due to technical or other issues. The scheme benefits students from the general category, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and the transgender community.In the academic session 2024-25, the portal was reopened. Through that effort, 53,041 students received scholarships and fee reimbursements totalling Rs81.2 crore. Among them, 25,395 SC students received Rs 30.6 crore, while 27,646 students from the general category received Rs50.5 crore as assistance.Social welfare minister Aseem Arun said, “We are committed to giving equal opportunities to all. The scheme is an effort to ensure every student continues education.”
