Lucknow: Residents of Emaar Gomti Greens on Tuesday filed a complaint at Sushant Golf City police station alleging unauthorised commercial use of the society clubhouse and intimidation during a protest. In the complaint, the Residents Welfare Association (RWA) said the clubhouse, shown as a private amenity at the time of sale of flats, was later sold by the builder to a third party. Despite multiple rounds of talks with the builder and complaints to Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), the issue remains unresolved. The RWA alleged that the clubhouse is being booked for events involving outsiders, with late-night music, crowding and alcohol consumption. Residents said these activities are causing disturbance and affecting children, women and elderly people.Around 100 residents staged a protest outside the society on Monday evening. At around 8.30pm, the clubhouse owner and his son allegedly arrived in a car in an inebriated state and tried to drive towards the residents. They allegedly abused residents, including women, and issued threats. When contacted, the builder refused to comment.RWA president Raj Kishore Rakesh said, “We want a medical examination to verify alcohol consumption and registration of a case against both men.”When contacted, LDA vice-chairman Prathamesh Kumar said the authority is examining the claims made by both the RWA and the builder.
